General Information

Casual Rink Supervisor opportunities are available at Kerry Park Recreation Centre within the South Cowichan Recreation Division of the Community Services Department at the Cowichan Valley Regional District. Reporting to the Programs and Marketing Coordinator or designate and supervised by recreation programming staff, the Rink Supervisor oversees the operation and supervision of arena recreation activities and programming, private rentals and special events.

Qualifications

  • Preference will be given to those that have completed Grade 12 or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Experience working in a recreation type environment.
  • Experience supervising staff.
  • First Aid Certificate with Child CPR
  • Class 5 BC Driver’s License would be an asset
  • WHMIS Certificate– provided by the employer

Hours of Work

Casual hours of work are scheduled based on operational need and will be required to work a flexible variety of shifts including days & evenings on weekdays, weekends, statutory holidays, and school professional development days.

Salary

This non-union casual opportunity has a wage range in two steps, $24.66 - $25.94 per hour (2025 rates), plus an additional 17.2% pay in lieu of benefits, vacation and statutory holidays, as per the Non-Union Wage Scale.
