The Cowichan Valley Regional District is now accepting applications from prospective candidates as a temporary full time Utility Worker II (KPRC), up to four months, in the South Cowichan Facilities Section of the Facilities Division within the Community Services Department. Reporting to the Manager – Facility Operations (South Cowichan) , the Utility Worker II is responsible for the cleanliness, sanitation, housekeeping and maintenance of the facilities and grounds. Main duties include cleaning, room and equipment set-ups and tear-downs, ice and facilities maintenance, grounds work, sports field facility maintenance, and incidental security work.

Guaranteed 40 hours of work per week on a rotating shift basis. Due to the nature of the work, it will be necessary to work a variety of shifts including days, nights, and weekends. Days off will change with the rotating schedule. The rotating shifts may be subject to change to meet operational requirements.
Wage rate in 3 steps as per the Collective Agreement between the CVRD and CUPE Local 358, is $34.06 - $35.08 - $36.14 per hour with Refrigeration Operator Certificate (2025 rates). Benefits are included as per the CUPE Collective Agreement.
