General Information

The Cowichan Valley Regional District is now accepting applications for casual Operations Attendant opportunities in the North/Central Cowichan Section of the Facilities Division within the Community Services Department. Reporting to the Manager – Facility Operations and supervised by the Operations Attendant - Lead Hand, working as a team with an Operations Attendant, the Operations Worker is responsible to assist in performance of a variety of tasks related to routine janitorial and operations of the Cowichan Community Centre.

Qualifications

  • Grade 10 or the equivalent combination of education/training and experience
  • WHMIS Certificate – provided by employer

  • Basic First Aid Certificate

  • Valid Class 5 or 7 BC Driver’s License– employer provided vehicle

Hours of Work

This is a casual, on-call opportunity with no guaranteed hours of work. Shifts are based on the operational needs of the facility. The successful candidate must be able to work a variety of hours and shifts, including weekdays, weekends, evenings, and short-notice shifts.

Salary

Wage rate in 3 steps as per the Collective Agreement between the CVRD and CUPE Local 358, $22.40 - $23.01 - $23.67 per hour (2025 rates), plus an additional 14.5% pay in lieu of vacation, benefits and statutory holidays.
