The Cowichan Valley Regional District is now accepting applications from prospective candidates to work as a Utilities Operations Worker in the Water Management Division for summer 2026.
Reporting to the Manager of Water Operations, and supervised by the Senior Operator, the Utilities Student assists Division staff with the safe and efficient operation and routine maintenance of water and sewer systems.
This position is available for a period of 17 weeks commencing May 4, 2026 and continuing until August 28, 2026, subject to funding. Hours of work are 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. The position may be utilized by a co-op student and the start and end dates are negotiable.
This temporary position is unionized (USW Local 1-1937) and is compensated at $26.26 per hour. Additionally, this position will receive 14.5% in lieu of benefits, statutory holidays and vacation, bringing the compensation to $30.07 per hour. (2026 wage rates)
