A regular part time Program Assistant I position is available at Cowichan Lake Recreation, in the Community Services Department at the Cowichan Valley Regional District (CVRD). Reporting to the Manager, Cowichan Lake Recreation and supervised by the Recreation Programmer II, the Program Assistant I assists with implementing recreation programs and special events including program leadership, supervision, instructional support, and administration, and encourages participation in recreation programs and special events. This position is guaranteed 20 hours of work per week. Work is scheduled based on operational needs and may include days and evenings on weekdays and weekends. Due to the nature of this work the successful candidate must be available to work a flexible variety of shifts.
This position is unionized (USW Local 1-1937) with a wage rate in two steps $25.03 per hour, Step 1 and $26.53 per hour, Step 2 (2025 rates). Benefits are included as per the CVRD and USW Collective Agreement.
