General Information

The Cowichan Valley Regional District is now accepting applications from prospective candidates to join our organizationas a Clerk Receptionist in a temporary part time position of up to 22 months, in the Cowichan Lake Recreation Division within the Community Services Department. This posting is to fill a maternity leave vacancy. Reporting to the Manager, Cowichan Lake Recreation and supervised by the Secretary III, the Clerk Receptionist primarily performs a variety of reception, clerical and administrative duties and tasks for Cowichan Lake Recreation.

Qualifications

  • Secondary school graduation plus successful completion of a clerical / secretarial training program or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • One (1) year of practical experience in an administrative or clerical environment, preferably in a local government recreational facility setting.
  • First Aid Level I with CPR
  • Class 5 BC Driver’s License

Hours of Work

Hours of work are guaranteed 17.5 hours per week are scheduled based on operational need and will be required to work a flexible variety of shifts including days & evenings on weekdays & weekends. This position may work up to 35 hours per week during peak operational periods or to provide office coverage as needed.

Salary

This non-union position has a wage range in two steps $29.54 - $30.80 per hour (2025 wage rates).
