General Information

The Cowichan Valley Regional District is now accepting applications from prospective candidates to join our organization as a casual Food & Beverage II in the Cowichan Lake Recreation Division within the Community Services Department. Reporting to the Food & Beverage Coordinator, the Food & Beverage II effectively performs duties, assigned by the Food & Beverage Coordinator, including cooking and prep cooking, serving, cashiering, washing dishes, bussing tables and performs banquet, concession, cleaning and sanitation work.  The Food & Beverage II provides professional service to patrons ensuring their satisfaction, including responding to inquiries with tact and directing concerns to the appropriate sources.

Qualifications

  • Secondary school graduation or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience.  
  • Experience in cooking and food preparation, short order cooking, concession-style cooking and banquet work.  
  • Food Safe Basic Certificate
  • Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License is an asset -- employer provided vehicle
  • Basic First Aid Certificate (First Aid Level I)

Hours of Work

As this is a casual opportunity, there are no guaranteed hours of work. Due to the nature of the position, the successful candidate must be prepared to work a flexible variety of shifts including days & evenings on weekdays & weekends.

Salary

This non-union casual opportunity has a wage range in three steps, $19.79 - $21.03 - $22.24 per hour (2025 rates), plus an additional 17.2% in lieu of vacation, benefits and stat holidays, as per the Non-Union Wage Scale.
