The Cowichan Valley Regional District is now accepting applications for the regular full-time Asset Management Technician position in the Asset Management Section within the Corporate Services Department.
Reporting to the Manager – Asset Management Systems, the Asset Management Technician supports the development and maintenance of the CVRD’s Asset Management Program by administering the asset management database and compiling and analyzing asset data. They assist across the organization in planning preventative maintenance, repair needs, and capital asset programs, while conducting life-cycle and cost-benefit analyses to recommend asset management strategies. The role involves analyzing infrastructure performance, predicting asset conditions, and evaluating service level impacts using data models. This position also develops and implements Asset Management Plans, coordinates the Corporate Fleet, provides training to staff, creates reports, and stays current on asset management software, advancements, requirements, and best practices.

Guaranteed 35 hours of work per week, Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and eligible for flex time. This position may be required to attend some evening and weekend meetings.
Where operationally appropriate and subject to change, the CVRD has a Work From Home program. This program allows staff to work remotely, with the number of remote days per week determined by operational requirements, from locations that are a daily commutable distance from their work at a CVRD worksite. This position works from the CVRD's main office in Duncan, BC, and at this time, is eligible to be part of the Work From Home program, potentially working a hybrid in-office / remote schedule after a successful in-office training period.
Wage rate in 3 steps as per the Collective Agreement between the CVRD and CUPE Local 358, $46.19 - $47.62 - $48.97 per hour (2025 rates). Benefits are included as per the CUPE Collective Agreement - click here for a summary of the benefits package.
