General Information

Casual, on-call Food & Beverage I opportunities are available at the Kerry Park Recreation Centre within the South Cowichan Recreation Division of the Community Services Department at the Cowichan Valley Regional District. Reporting to the Food & Beverage Coordinator the Food & Beverage I provides pleasant, professional customer service to patrons and performs cashiering, dish washing, bussing, and concession attendant duties.

Qualifications

  • Minimum completion of Grade 9.  An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
  • Experience working in a food and beverage environment (kitchen/concession) would be an asset.
  • Food Safe Level I Certificate
  • First Aid Level I with CPR Certificate (or an age appropriate first aid certificate if under the age of 16)

Hours of Work

 Casual hours of work are scheduled based on operational need and successful candidates will be required to work a flexible variety of shifts including days and evenings on weekdays and weekends. As this is a casual opportunity, there are no guaranteed hours of work.

Salary

This non-union position is compensated at $20.92 per hour (2023 rate), which is $17.85 per hour plus an additional 17.2% pay in lieu of vacation, benefits and statutory holidays, as per the Non-Union Wage Scale.
