A regular full time Recreation Programmer II position is available in the Cowichan Lake Recreation Division within the Community Services Department at the Cowichan Valley Regional District (CVRD). Reporting to the Manager, Cowichan Lake Recreation, The Recreation Programmer ll is responsible for staying on top of trends in recreation in order to develop, plan, coordinate, implement and lead the program and events section in the provision of community programming and special events for people of all ages and abilities. The Recreation Programmer ll will also serve on a team with other staff and/or community representatives working towards providing responsible and quality recreational opportunities for the community.

The hours of work are 35 hours per week. Due to the nature of the work, it will be necessary to work a variety of shifts including days and evenings on weekdays and weekends. This position is eligible to participate in the Flextime Program. This position may be eligible for partial Work-From-Home consideration.
This regular full time position is unionized (USW Local 1-1937) and has a wage rate in two steps, $36.64 - $38.89 per hour (2023 rates). A comprehensive benefit package is included.
