The Cowichan Valley Regional District is now accepting applications from prospective candidates to join our organization as a casual Food & Beverage II – Bartender at the Cowichan Performing Arts Centre in the Arts & Culture Division within the Community Services Department. Reporting to the Manager, Arts & Culture Division, and supervised by the Administrative Services Supervisor, the Bartender performs bartending functions in the Cowichan Performing Arts Centre and ensures patron satisfaction by providing the best service possible. The Bartender stores, prepares, handles, and serves all alcohol and non-alcohol related products, stocks the bar, performs cashiering, and ensures an organized, clean service environment.

As this is a casual opportunity, there are no guaranteed hours of work. Hours of work are scheduled based on operational need. Successful candidates must be available to work a flexible variety of shifts including days & evenings on weekdays, weekends, statutory holidays, and school professional development days.
This casual opportunity is unionized (CUPE Local 358) with a starting wage of $19.16 per hour (which is $16.81 per hour plus an additional 6% pay in lieu of benefits, 6% pay in lieu of vacation and 2% pay in lieu of statutory holidays) as per the 2021 CUPE Wage Scale.
