The Cowichan Valley Regional District is now accepting applications from prospective candidates to join our organization as a casual Skating Instructor II in the Cowichan Lake Recreation Division within the Community Service’s Department. Reporting to the Recreation Centre Manager or designate and supervised by recreation programming staff the Skating Instructor II facilitates and leads both the Active Communities Learn to Skate lessons and private lessons to a variety of age groups to help them gain confidence, skills, and knowledge both on and off the ice.

As this is a casual opportunity, there are no guaranteed hours of work. Due to the nature of the position, the successful candidate must be prepared to work a flexible variety of shifts including days & evenings on weekdays & weekends.
This non-union casual opportunity has a starting wage rate of $21.72 per hour (which is $18.56 per hour plus an additional 6% pay in lieu of vacation, 6% pay in lieu of benefits and 5% pay in lieu of statutory holidays), as per the 2023 Non-Union Wage Scale.
