General Information

The Cowichan Valley Regional District is now accepting applications from prospective candidates to join our organization as an Instructor-Facilitator in the Cowichan Lake Recreation Division within the Community Services Department. Reporting to the Recreation Centre Manager or designate and supervised by recreation programming staff the Instructor ‑ Facilitator performs a variety of work related to facilitating recreational activities for children & youth programs and special events.

Qualifications

  • Preference will be given to those that have completed Grade 11.  
  • Preference may be given to individuals that have worked or volunteered in a recreation type environment.
  • First Aid Certificate with Child CPR.
  • Class 5 BC Driver’s License an asset. 
  • WHMIS Certificate– provided by the employer.

Hours of Work

Casual hours of work are scheduled based on operational need and successful candidates will be required to work a flexible variety of shifts including days & evenings on weekdays & weekends. As this is a casual opportunity, there are no guaranteed hours of work.

Salary

This non-union casual opportunity has a starting wage of $20.65 per hour (which is $17.65 per hour plus an additional 6% pay in lieu of benefits, 6% pay in lieu of vacation and 5% pay in lieu of statutory holidays), as per the 2023 Non-Union Wage Scale.
